Alden's work is based upon the idea of a book. A deconstruction analysis of the book concept - from the binding to the pages and its content - creates an opportunity to re-examine the spaces that we control. The language that defines the book can be applied to simple boundaries of any construction, such as a simple room and it's contents, or the contents of a bag. In its root nature, it is a progressive narrative that separates itself from the singularity of a solitary artwork or a mere page.

Alden attained a diploma in Fine Arts (Printmaking) from The Alberta College of Art & Design in 1996.
